[Italian leather pencil case] What LETS wanted from a pen case - Pentaboric

Hello.
This is the LETS STATIONERY GOODS management team.

The other day, I posted on social media a meeting about writing implements about what to do with pens that have grown too large to fit in my pencil case.

  • Until Pentaboric is completed
  • “Pentaboric” is a pen case that allows you to enjoy replacing your best pens with you.

Until Pentaboric is completed

Pentaboric was released in April, but there were many changes before this child was completed.

The concept behind making the pencil case was ``thin and can hold a lot.''
Business bags have pockets for small things,
To begin with, the bag itself is thin, so the pencil case tends to be small.

At first, I wanted something thin and large-capacity so I could carry it in my business bag.

Early ideas included a transparent one made of PVC vinyl and leather materials, such as the LETS Clear System Notebook, and one with a single stitch.
In addition, I once considered making it from canvas instead of leather, but there were a lot of issues, including the difficulty of creating a LETS-like color scheme.

During this time, I discovered the Italian leather that we currently use at Pentaboric.
It was the ideal color.
The deciding factors were the good coloring, the ability to come in a variety of colors, the softness of the Italian leather, and the fact that the leather stretches to provide storage capacity, which led to its current form.

Here, I would like to touch on the characteristics of Italian leather.

When you hear the word Italian leather, can you imagine what it actually looks like?
As the name suggests, it refers to leather produced in Italy.
It is one of the three major leathers in the world, along with British bridle leather and American cordovan leather.

Italian leather is made using unique traditional methods.
Since the leather is soaked with plenty of oil, it actually requires no maintenance.
If it's a small scratch, you can rub it with your fingers to release the oil and make it less noticeable.

Pentaboric uses such Italian leather.
As the leather stretches, it was created in a shape that was ``thin and could fit a lot'', just as the original concept was.

A photo of me thinking of a plan

“Pentaboric” is a pen case that allows you to enjoy replacing your best pens with you.

The origin of the name entaboric is "pen + metabolic".

The more you are a core stationery fan, the more you are particular about pens.
When a new pen is released, I try out one, and if I like it, I buy more...
Before you know it, it's not uncommon for a pen you buy to try out to become your favorite.

Then the next problem is which pen to carry with you.
That's good, and this is good too.
I guess I'm feeling like that pen right now.
There is no doubt that such replacements will occur frequently.

The contents of the pencil case change as new friends join.
This is exactly like the metabolism of a pencil case.

I want you to feel free to carry your best with you at all times.
The name "Pentaboric" was given with this feeling in mind.

Pentaboric can hold up to 10 standard-sized pens and looks smart even when it's packed.
Why does it look smart?
That's because it's made from stretchy Italian leather.
Even when it's full, you can see its luster, giving it a glimpse of luxury.
Leather looks good even when thickened, which is why we chose leather as the material.

Leather changes over time with continued use, but with Pentaboric, you can enjoy the beautiful luster unique to Italian leather, and check out how its appearance changes over time.

Lastly, here is a picture of the writing implements meeting that I posted on SNS the other day.
I really enjoyed thinking about the metabolism of a pencil case, so I recommend it!
Please enjoy our stationery.
